My new hobby...

... is apparently making Derby hats!

A hat for Mom

It's fun to take a break from doll-making, although I love that process, to make other things. This week in my hometown of Louisville, Kentucky we are celebrating with the Derby Festival. It technically began with Thunder Over Louisville two Saturdays ago, but this week is when things really get going.

I am most looking forward to watching the Pegasus Parade with my nephew on Thursday and of course, the running of the 137th Kentucky Derby on Saturday!

For my Aunt's Derby party, I decided my Mom and I should have some awesome hats! I haven't finished mine yet, but thought I would go ahead and share my Mom's. Would you believe the pink hat was $2.50 from Target in the beach section? A few spiffy accessories, and now it's really something!

Craft E Swag

Sewing Labels by E. Magee
Sewing Labels a photo by E. Magee on Flickr.
I am really excited to share some of the things that I've received in the mail lately. First up is something you may have already seen in Beatrice's photos, and that is the customized sewing label. I use an online vendor called Namemaker. They do really great work and the labels look so awesome. I love this photo with the labels in a pile--it makes me happy!

Next are these awesome notepads I had printed from etsy user AllJust4You. I had to request purple ink, since it is my favorite color, and the design is a sketch of little dollies that I did before opening Craft E Magee.

Last, but not least, are these awesome Craft E Magee totebags! I designed a cute pink logo and the Canova Group was able to work out a very nice set of bags for me. I am just loving the Craft E Swag!

Making life easier

I am so excited about something that just came in the mail-- a hanging organizer that I ordered from my friend, a consultant for Thirty-One. It is going to be so awesome to have my stamps, envelopes, pens, and address book in one place! I can never find those things when I need them. It even has a dry erase board, so my lists will be more eco-friendly, instead of scralled on zillions of pieces of paper.

It looks like something that could be handmade very easily, so if you didn't have the money for this awesome organizer, you could probably make one at home for cheap.

My favorite part is the embroidery at the top which reads.... Craft E Magee!

St. Patty's Day printables!

The Valentine's Day printables were so fun to make, that I thought I'd try my hand at some printables for St. Patrick's Day. I have created a poster and some postcards that can be printed out, hung up, or given away to ones you love. Remember that these files are for personal use only.

After printing out some of the postcards, I decided to spruce them up by punching two holes in the cloud and adding a button to it. It will make a really nice little token of luck for friends and co-workers on St. Patty's Day! You could always attach candy instead, like a foil wrapped chocolate coin. Of course, giving them to friends without these little tokens is fine too!

Enjoy! A wishin' of the luck to you all!

Beatrice

For Beatrice's hair, I decided to go with braids. I think she looks so adorable with two pig-tail braids and a button nose.

I was able to use some of my new sewing labels on Beatrice, Callie, & Bianca, and I love the way they look! I will post more about the new sewing labels and other Craft E Magee swag soon!
